Michele Catherine Aquila, age 39, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2026.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Michele was the beloved daughter of Mary Kathleen (Moore) Hild and the late Sheldon Lee Hild.

Michele recently celebrated 20 years of marriage to her beloved husband, Christopher. She was a devoted wife and mother who cherished her family above all else. Her husband and children, Amber, Anna, and Landon, were the center of her world and the most important part of her life. Her family was often the focus of her conversations, and she found her greatest joy in being surrounded by those she loved and making memories together.

Michele was working toward her degree in accounting and was proud of continuing her education. She had many interests and hobbies that brought her happiness throughout her life. She enjoyed camping, spending the Fourth of July in Ocean City, taking Disney cruises, and visiting amusement parks with her family. She was also a devoted Taylor Swift fan.

More recently, Michele found comfort and joy in baking, especially making sourdough bread. She was artistic and enjoyed painting, as well as putting together puzzles. Her creativity was one of the many qualities that made her unique.

Michele was an open book and was always willing to share her thoughts, feelings, and experiences with her friends and loved ones. She was headstrong, strong-willed, and unapologetically herself. Despite the challenges of her illness, and even when advised otherwise by her doctors, Michele refused to let her illness keep her from enjoying life and spending time with her family. Her strength, determination, and unwavering love for those closest to her will remain an enduring part of her legacy.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Christopher Aquila; her children, Amber, Anna, and Landon; her mother, Mary Kathleen Hild; her brother, Timothy (Cara) Hild; her sister, Laura (Andrew) Hoch; her sister-in-law, Laura B.; and many beloved nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund or the Vasculitis Foundation.

Anyone wishing to attend the graveside service is asked to arrive at the funeral home parking lot, located at 1317 Cokesbury Road, Abingdon, MD, by 10:30 a.m. Please remain in the parking lot to join the funeral procession to the cemetery.
