Michael Stephen Urban, age 73, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Michael was the beloved son of the late Michael Urban and Helen Veronica (Malhowski) Urban.

Michael shared 52 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Catherine Ann (Manley) Urban. He retired from ThermoFisher after an impressive 48-year career, where he was respected for his dedication and commitment.

Michael embraced life with a passion for the water. An avid boater and fisherman, he found great joy spending time on the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Hickory and served as Past Commodore of Crescent Yacht Club.

Michael also enjoyed traveling with family and friends to destinations spanning from Alaska to Switzerland with a particular fondness for Delaware beaches and Caribbean cruises. Known well for his calm demeanor in a sea of easily excitably loved ones, Michael is fondly remembered for his patience, his helping hands, and his love of a good time.

Michael is survived by his children, Heather Jones, Michael Urban and his wife, Allison, and Erin Urban and her husband, Paul Graf, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Maura Jones, Chloe Jones, Lia Urban, Heidi Urban, and Colin Urban.
