Michael Ryan Chott, age 34, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, in Baltimore, MD. He was born in Smithtown, New York.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Lauren Margaret Chott, with whom he shared 15 years together and was married for nine cherished months. He is also survived by his parents, John Mikol Chott and Diane Marie (Clery) Chott; his siblings, Joseph Chott and his wife Emily, Christopher Chott, Stephen Chott and his wife Rachael, and Kayla Chott; and his beloved nieces, Catherine Chott, Caroline Chott, and Charlotte Chott.

Michael and Lauren met as members of the University of Pittsburgh Marching Band, a connection that began a lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. It was here that their love for Pitt athletics grew, despite constant disappointments from the teams. He was also an avid fan of New York sports, a love that he shared with his wife, despite liking rival hockey teams.

Michael was a devoted husband and a proud and loving dog dad to Cooper, their rescue dog from the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh. His love for Cooper was a true reflection of his kind heart and selfless nature.

Michael loved traveling with his wife, enjoying a good dark beer or a smokey whiskey, and living life with joy and a positive outlook. He was known for always putting others before himself, and his generosity of spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Beyond his immediate family and beloved Cooper, Michael will be deeply missed by his many friends and extended family.
