Mary “Jean” Vitek, age 91, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in Bel Air, MD.
Jean was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late John Keczmerski and Mary Agnes (Fitzgerald) Keczmerski. She was the beloved wife of Robert Frank Vitek, who preceded her in death.
In addition to her husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by her daughters, Jeanna Helkowski (Paul), and Theresa Buccheri (the late Joe) Buccheri.
Jean is survived by her loving children: Michael (Carol) Vitek, Christopher (Cathy) Vitek, Monica (Mark) Mantegna, Jeannette (Paul) Fontenot, and Rob Vitek.
She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Tim (Evelyn), Jen (Ben), Holly (Jason), David (Ruriko), Bill (Ilana), Joe (Leathy), Megan (Aram), Sara, Carley, Bobbie, Steven, Betsy, Dana, Adam, Ben, Grant, Nathan, Grace, Lydia, and Abbey.
Jean is further survived by her great-grandchildren: Julianne, Arwyn, Reece, Orrin, Florence, Bastian, Jaxon, Armine, and Truth.
She is also survived by her siblings: John (the late Dottie) Keczmerski, Gerrie (Bill) Skuhr, and Mary Ellen (Charlie) Kennedy.
Jean was a devoted woman of faith and a true Prayer Warrior. She loved her children deeply and found joy in knitting, reading, and participating in Body & Soul aerobics. She cherished Bible study with her family and lived a life marked by generosity and compassion. If Jean saw a need, she did her best to fulfill it. As part of her ministry, she lovingly knitted baby blankets that were sent to foreign countries, touching lives far beyond her own community.
Jean Vitek will be remembered for her unwavering faith, generous heart, and the love she shared so freely with her family and all who knew her.
