Mary Regina Jendrek

Mary Regina “Jeannie” Jendrek, age 73, of Maryland, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026, in Towson, Maryland.

Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, Jeannie was the beloved daughter of the late Peter Paul Lochary and the late Oneta (Cheek) Lochary. She was the devoted wife of Matthew Joseph Jendrek.

Jeannie dedicated 42 years of her life to nursing, serving patients at many local area hospitals. She was proudly a member of the class of 1971 at John Carroll School. Jeannie went on to earn her nursing degree from Harford Community College, completed her bachelor's degree at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland University, and went on to earn her master's degree in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University. Throughout her long career, she touched many lives through her dedication, compassion, and commitment to caring for others.

Family was at the center of Jeannie's life, and she especially treasured her grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as “Mini.” She adored them and delighted attending various sporting events and in taking them on special shopping sprees. She was also crazy about her beloved dogs, Barkley, Maggie, and Daisy, who brought her much happiness.

Jeannie and her husband, Matt, shared a love of motorcycling and enjoyed riding together, as well as taking long drives in their convertible. She was a well-organized woman who took great pride in planning family gatherings and holidays, ensuring that every detail was thoughtfully arranged. Jeannie was especially blessed by her close relationship with her cousin, Joyce, whom she considered her best friend. Her love for her family, thoughtful nature, and devotion to those closest to her will be remembered always.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Matthew Joseph Jendrek; her loving sons, Peter Sheldon and his wife, Courtney, and Christopher Sheldon and his partner, Joanna; her cherished grandchildren, Grace Sheldon, Quinn Sheldon, and Ryder Sheldon; her sister, Barbara Caine; and her beloved cousin and best friend, Joyce Westervelt. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
