Mary Jane Mellendick

Mary Jane Mellendick, age 95, of Bel Air, MD passed away on April 15, 2023. Jane was born in Baltimore on July 7, 1927. She was the wife of the late Richmond Mellendick, Sr. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael Higgins, Sr., and Catherine Higgins and her brothers William Gerlach III and Michael “Bunky” Higgins, Jr.


Jane worked as a representative of Hallmark Cards for over 25 years. She was a long-time member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, in Hickory, a former member of St. Agnes Church in Catonsville and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Baynesville. She was a dedicated, loving, and doting Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother who enjoyed watching every event in which they ever participated. You would always see her standing on the sidelines, behind the bench or in her chair, cheering for them, the entire time.


She is survived by her children, Jane Watkins (Richard), Dianne Burns, Richmond Mellendick, Jr. (MJ) and Vera Gooding (Steve); grandchildren, Shawn Watkins (Amy), Matthew Watkins (Teresa), Joy Fox (Ben), Richmond Mellendick, III (Tara Miller), Catherine Mellendick, Nicole Obringer (Todd Collins), Maxwell, Dale and Luke Harris, Kristen Ciccone (Curt) and Amy Gooding. Also survived by her 16 loving great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
