Martha H. Oaks

MARTHA H. OAKS, 59, of Rural Retreat, Virginia, died at Wesley Long Community Hospital, Greensboro, North Carolina, on July 18, 2003. Born and raised in Harford County, she was the daughter of the late Miles Olney and Arbutus Gentry Howell. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, antiques, reading, going to the beach and being around family and friends.

Mrs. Oaks is survived by her husband of 39 years, Howard J. Oaks; three sons, Gregory Scott Oaks of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Bryan Howard Oaks of Greensboro, North Carolina and Eric Olney Oaks of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a brother, Charles Henry Howell of Chilhowie, Virginia; and a grandson, John Stevenson Oaks of Harrisonburg, Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Miles Olney Howell and two sisters, Evelyn Howell Pace and Betty Howell Pace.
