Ocean View, DE

Marlyn L. Norris, aged 85, a beloved resident of Ocean View, Delaware, peacefully passed away on January 29, 2024, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Delaware. Born in Long Green, Maryland, she was the cherished daughter of the late Walter and Ethel (Hanlon) Lynch and the loving wife of the late David Norris.

Marlyn was a vibrant member of the Red Hat Club in Harford County through St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Her zest for life and love for community made her a cherished friend among her fellow club members. She had an eye for fashion, an appreciation for flowers and nature, and a passion for gardening. Marlyn's culinary skills were exceptional, and her kitchen was always filled with the enticing aroma of her delicious creations. An avid animal lover, she had a special fondness for dogs.

Family was at the center of Marlyn's world, and she was especially family oriented. She took immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Marlyn's generosity extended beyond family gatherings, as she would often accompany her grandchildren and great-nieces/nephews to school events. She enjoyed traveling with her daughter and granddaughters to the beach and mountains.

Marlyn is survived by her son, Mark (Faye) Norris; daughter, Stephanie (Richard) Daley; four grandchildren, Lauren (Donald) Amend, Jennifer (Steven) Singleton, Savannah Norris, and Violet Norris; great-grandsons, David Amend and Sterling Singleton; and great-granddaughter, Hannah Amend.

In addition to her husband and parents, Marlyn was preceded in death by her brother, Harvey Lynch, and sister, Lucille Grimmel.

The family requests that contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060, in Marlyn's memory.
