Obituary

Mark Gregory Stec, age 62, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in Bel Air, MD.

Born in Elkton, Maryland, Mark was the beloved son of Frank Stec and Norma (Walker) Stec, both of whom survive him. Mark is also survived by his loving wife, Ginger Ellen Stec; his daughters Adrienne (Jason) Olwine, Carrie (Harlan) Krajci, Madeline (Joseph) Stec, and Rebecca Stec; his grandchildren Jack Roemer, Jesse Stec, Mia Stec, and Lena Krajci; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mark was the amazing, loving husband, father, and grandfather who would do anything for his family. He was a deeply devout Christian, steadfast in his faith, and lived his life guided by strong values, kindness, and integrity. A big family man, Mark made sure everyone stayed together—no one was ever left behind. He truly was the glue that held his family together.

Known for his witty humor and quick laugh, Mark loved making his family laugh and bringing joy into every room. He was the ultimate protector of his family and took great pride in caring for those he loved. Kind-hearted and generous, he was always ready to help anyone in need and never took people for granted.

Mark was the owner of Abingdon Custom Automotive, his own paint business, and was highly respected for his craftsmanship and perfectionism—especially when it came to cars. Very mechanically inclined and technical, he could fix anything in his home without instructions, simply jumping in and figuring it out. He loved cars, guns, classic stock cars, and proudly held an open carry permit. He also enjoyed baseball, history, documentaries, and politics, and was passionate about his beliefs as a proud Republican.

Mark loved nature and the outdoors, appreciating life’s beauty through forests, rivers, the ocean, and especially the woods of Pennsylvania, where he worked frequently and loved spending time. He enjoyed Amish food stands, pecan pies, chocolate cakes, and delicious meals—especially from the Greek Village in Bel Air. His favorite family memories were the times he spent traveling with them in his RV when his children were younger.

Above all else, Mark cherished his family. He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He was also a devoted son and caretaker to his parents, deeply loving his father and greatly admiring his mother’s strength, of which he was very proud.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mark’s memory to Shriners Children’s Hospitals.

Mark Gregory Stec will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his strength, laughter, faith, and unwavering devotion to family will live on forever.
