Marjorie A. Snider "Maw Maw"

Marjorie A. Snider “Maw Maw”, 85, of Joppa, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

Marjorie was born in Martinsburg, West Virginia, to the late Herman Wise Nelson and Margie Ellen (Lambert) Nelson.

She was the beloved wife of Franklin Vance Snider, who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Wittbecker.

Marjorie is survived by her loving children: Vance Snider and his wife Arlene, Patricia Daye, and Michael Snider and his wife Valencia. She was a devoted grandmother to many beloved grandchildren and is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Marjorie was a loving mother and grandmother who leaves behind a lasting legacy of love. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, and tailoring clothing, and found great joy in gardening—especially vegetable gardening. She loved feeding the birds and spending time bird watching. Marjorie also cherished camping and traveling in the RV, particularly trips to Chincoteague Island, Virginia, which she considered her favorite place on earth. Traveling there with her late husband brought her immense happiness.

At home, she loved lighting fires in her wooden fireplace to stay cozy and warm. The smoke gently rolling from the chimney was a familiar and comforting sign to all who knew her that she was home.
