Marissa Ann Napoli, age 60, of Havre de Grace, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2026.

Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Marissa was the beloved daughter of the late Johnny Napoli and Josephine Rose (Reddish) Napoli.

Marissa was a devoted and loving mother whose greatest joy was her daughter, Caroline Eleanor Dickie. She treasured reading to Caroline and creating lasting memories together. A talented cook, Marissa found happiness in nourishing her family through the meals she lovingly prepared.

Professionally, Marissa had an exceptional eye for design and presentation. In Jacksonville, Marissa worked as a visual merchandiser for West Elm, where her remarkable talent for staging merchandise made spaces inviting and desirable. She also worked at San Marco Books. Marissa’s expertise led her to travel extensively, sharing her creativity with many. Marissa also had a passion for discovering unique vintage treasures. In 2013, she turned that passion into her own business, Josephine Rose, where she bought, sold, and showcased vintage items at antique and vintage shows. In her leisure time, Marissa enjoyed listening to First Wave music from the 1980s, reading mysteries, and searching for hidden vintage treasures that reflected her creative spirit.

Always cheerful, Marissa made lifelong friendships, including ones with fellow graduates of Jacksonville University. She also forged deep friendships in St. Augustine, FL, and Havre de Grace, MD.

Marissa shared 19 wonderful years with her dear love, John Dickie IV, whose unwavering support, and devoted care sustained her throughout her courageous 11-year battle with cancer. She faced her illness with quiet dignity, grace, and a remarkably positive spirit that inspired fellow cancer patients and survivors she met through a Johns Hopkins Ovarian Cancer Retreat. Her strength, kindness, and optimism left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Marissa is survived by her beloved daughter, Caroline; partner John; cousins living across the country; and John’s family. A service celebrating Marissa’s life will be held on her birthday, Saturday, Sept. 26 at 11:00 a.m., at the Havre de Grace United Methodist Church. A second celebration of life will be scheduled for St. Augustine at a later date.
