Marion Silcox, age 83, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2024, at Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, Delaware.
Born in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Caliguire) Petrowski and the beloved wife of Robert M. Silcox. A devoted member of St. Margaret Catholic Church, Marion embraced her faith and community with warmth and dedication.
Marion and Bob married in 1965, embarking on a journey as an Army family, with postings from Fort Hood, TX, to Manassas, VA, and finally settling in Bel Air, Maryland. Marion was the heart of the family, managing their home with grace while Bob served in the Army Reserves. Her professional life included a dedicated tenure in the Human Resources department at Bel Air Convalescent Center.
As a young woman, Marion enjoyed horseback riding and ice skating, hobbies that reflected her lively and adventurous spirit. She was a talented home decorator, a gifted acrylic artist, and a skilled baker who cherished time spent with her grandchildren, especially during the Christmas season, baking a wide variety of cookies that became a treasured family tradition.
Marion and her husband Bob shared a passion for the Baltimore Ravens, holding season tickets since the team's inception, and rarely missing a game. For over 40 years, they vacationed in the Outer Banks, a cherished tradition that brought together family and extended family to create countless unforgettable memories.
Marion is survived by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Robert Miller Silcox; her daughters, Julie Marie (Mark) Caruso and Jennifer Beth Silcox; her son, Robert David (Pamela) Silcox; grandchildren, Ryan Caruso, Neil (Megan) Caruso, Hannah Silcox, and Benjamin Silcox; great-granddaughter, Claire Caruso; and her brothers, Richard (Cindy) Petrowski and Dennis (Louise) Petrowski.
Marion’s life was a testament to love, creativity, and family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of kindness and joy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
