Margaret Elizabeth (Avery) Scarff a resident of White Hall, Maryland died at the age of 79 at her home on December 16, 2025. Born in Richmond, Virginia, Margaret was the daughter of Cecil Crawford Avery Sr.and Bertha (Dzimidas) Avery Voltaire, both of whom proceeded her in death.

Margaret was the beloved wife of Grayson Windel Scarff, Jr., who also proceeded her in death. She had worked in data processing for CSX Railroad and was an active member of St Mary of the Assumption Church in Pylesville, Maryland.

Survivors include her brothers Thomas C. Avery (Lynn) of Virginia and Cecil C. Avery, Jr. (Carol) of Florida, as well as 3 nieces and a nephew.

Margaret will be remembered for her generosity, and especially for her dedication and love for all of the animals in her life.

A dedicated Mass and a grave side service will be held by the immediate family at a future date.

Donations in her memory may be sent to the Days End Farm Horse Rescue or the Humane Society of Harford County.
