Margaret Ella Couto, age 99, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. She was born in Romney, West Virginia, to the late Harry A. Parker and Edna May (Moreland) Parker.
Margaret was the beloved wife of Joseph August Couto, who preceded her in death. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished spending time with her family.
She was deeply involved in her community and faith. Margaret proudly served as a past president of the Bou-Tem-Sci, member of Boumi Ladies, was a dedicated member of the Daughters of the Nile (Maryland Chapter) and was an active member of St. James Church in Brogue, Pennsylvania. Her generosity and compassion were evident throughout her life.
Margaret is survived by her loving daughters, Donna Audia (Matthew), Michelle Ruff (Frederick); her stepchildren, Terry Rodgers, and Thomas Couto (Ann); 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Garry Saville; her stepsons, John Couto and Robert Couto.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital.
Margaret will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her service to others, and her unwavering faith. Her legacy of love, generosity, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
