Margaret “Peggy” Smith Call, age 58, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in Forest Hill, Maryland. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Richard Treanor Smith and Margaret Rose (Scarff) Wilson.
Margaret was the beloved wife of John Joseph Call, with whom she shared a deep love of travel and the outdoors. Together, they cherished time spent exploring nature, especially camping and hiking the trails around Loch Raven Reservoir. They also enjoyed visiting Cunningham State Park in Western Maryland and traveling to Martha’s Vineyard.
Peggy had a creative spirit and found joy in all types of crafts. She had a special love for animals, particularly her cherished Yorkies, Winston, and her late companions Charlie and Sarge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth “Lisa” Hershman.
She is survived by her devoted husband, John Call; her sister, Barbara Kalandros; her nephew, Michael DeVecchio; her nephew, Cameron Kalandros; and her niece, Whitney DeVecchio.
Peggy will be remembered for her love of nature, her creativity, and the warmth she shared with family and friends.
