Mackenzie Meruert Newburg-Snyder, lovingly known as “Kenzie,” age 23, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Franklin Square Hospital in Rosedale, Maryland.
Kenzie was born in Almaty Kazakhstan and adopted by her devoted parents, Kathy Newburg, and Bob Snyder, who survive her and cherish her memory deeply.
Kenzie attended Harford Day School and was a graduate of The John Carroll School, Class of May 2022. She was currently pursuing her studies in Public Health at West Chester University in Pennsylvania. A bright and compassionate young woman, Kenzie was dedicated to helping others—a trait that defined her life and legacy.
Kenzie’s selflessness extended beyond her lifetime. As an organ donor, she saved the lives of five individuals, including a one-year-old child, and helped many others through tissue donation, aiding those undergoing reconstructive surgeries. Her incredible gift is a lasting testament to her generous spirit.
Kenzie had a love for life that was evident in all she did. She enjoyed playing golf, spending time at the beach, and riding her bike through Cape Henlopen State Park, where she often captured beautiful sunset photographs. She was an avid reader and a talented writer, having received a creative writing award during her middle school years. In her younger days, she also enjoyed Broadway and had a deep appreciation for music. Kenzie was extremely social and treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. She also loved her dog, Brodie.
Kenzie will be remembered for her radiant smile, her kindness, her great sense of humor, and her unwavering thoughtfulness toward others. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued and loved.
In addition to her parents, Kenzie is survived by Kathy’s sister and her husband, Susan and Michael Morgan, their sons, Zac and Casey, and Casey’s wife and daughter, Corinne and Madison, as well as many loving and dear friends whose lives she touched profoundly.
