Mabel S. Kroh, age 97, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025.
Born in Rutledge, Maryland, Mabel was the daughter of the late William Colburn Stifler and Mabel Claudia Olivia (Hess) Stifler. She was the beloved wife of the late Curtis Weston Kroh.
Mabel was a lifelong resident of Bel Air and a proud graduate of Bel Air High School. While working at Kroh’s Nursery on Bond Street, she met the love of her life, “C.W.”, and together they shared a wonderful marriage of 35 years.
She was known for her passion for nature, hands-on work with plants and love for the outdoors. She enjoyed participating in local craft shows, fairs and markets of all seasons. Mabel had a special talent for making beautiful wreaths and centerpieces — anything with evergreen clippings and bows. She touched countless lives and gardens of her grateful customers and friends will continue to flourish because of her care.
She attended Mountain Christian Church for much of her life and was deeply devoted to her faith, family and friends.
Mabel will be lovingly remembered for her kind heart and the way she never missed a chance to remind family and friends that she loved them.
She is survived by her sisters Catherine Nash, Doris Sterbak and Bertha Walker and family.
