M. Lynne Strausser

Lynne Strausser passed away after a lengthy contest of wills with interstitial lung disease. She lived a long and full life.

Born in Baltimore, Lynne was the eldest child and only daughter of the late Gertrude (Tear) Roemer and the late William Roemer. Through the Tear side of the family, her lineage was tied to the Mayflower pilgrims four ways. She was the devoted wife of and end-of-life caretaker for Larry S. Strausser, her beloved husband; they had known each other since the age of five and were happily married for 52 years.

Lynne is survived by her daughters and grandchildren, Dana L. Lares (Peter), and grandson Gabriel P. Lares; and Jill M. Healey (John), and grandchildren Madison A. Stripling (Zachary) and Graham D. Healey. She also is survived by great-grandchildren Greyson and Isabelle. Her family was the focus of her life. Lynne also is survived by her brother, Branden, and predeceased by her brother, David.

A resident of Harford County since 1977, Lynne was active in community affairs nearly all her life, most recently as the Secretary of the Board of Directors for Forest View Condominium Association, a position she held for nearly ten years and found both challenging and rewarding.

Lynne was a woman of deep faith. A lifelong Lutheran who graduated from Concordia Lutheran College, Bronxville, NY. Lynne was a devoted member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Fallston. She served in various capacities in her church life over the years, including as a Healing Minister.

Before retiring, Lynne was Project Administrator for the Maryland Transportation Authority's I-95 Express Toll Lanes Project in Baltimore and Harford Counties, a position she enjoyed and found to be fulfilling and "immersive."

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 621 Old Fallston Road, Fallston, MD 21047 https://www.holycommunionfallston.org/ or the charity of your choice.  A reception will be held immediately following the memorial service.  Internment private.
