Lloyd Sedwick Bowen, Jr., age 80, of Joppa, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Lloyd Sedwick Bowen, Sr. and Ida Ruth (Funk) Bowen and the beloved husband of Linda M. Bowen. Lloyd and Linda shared 45 wonderful years of marriage.

A proud veteran, Lloyd was also a dedicated and hardworking man throughout his life. He enjoyed a successful 40-year career with Exxon, where he was known as an exceptional salesman with a personality that made a lasting impression wherever he went. Rain, shine, or snow, Lloyd could be counted on to show up and get the job done. The independent dealers at the locations he visited always looked forward to seeing him, and his outgoing nature eventually made him a recognizable face for Exxon from coast to coast. His natural ability to connect with people also made him the perfect choice to entertain clients on behalf of the company.

Lloyd had a great personality, loved to joke, and was simply unforgettable. He had a way of making people laugh and feel welcome, and those who met him rarely forgot him.

Some of Lloyd's happiest times were spent at the beach with Linda at their home in Fenwick Island. He loved the beach lifestyle and especially enjoyed his daily "happy hour," which faithfully began at 3:00 p.m. He was also very proud of his red convertible Mustang, a car that perfectly suited his fun-loving personality.

Above all, Lloyd adored his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved taking them out to eat, having them spend the night, and simply enjoying their company. The time he shared with them brought him tremendous happiness and created many cherished memories.

Lloyd was also one of the founders of the AO Pleasure Club in Baltimore, a club formed among friends that hosted numerous dances and bull roasts while raising money for various charities. Lloyd embraced the fun and fellowship of the club and even served as the Elf at its Christmas parties. The club continues today, carrying on a tradition that Lloyd was proud to have helped establish.

Lloyd is survived by his beloved wife, Linda M. Bowen; his sons, Anthony Bowen and his wife, Sara, and Christopher Bowen; his daughter, Joanna Bannister and her husband, Christopher; his grandchildren, Shawn Duncan, Vanessa Bowen, Sarah Bowen, Kassie Bannister, and Eme Bannister; and his sister, Sherry Jacobs.

In addition to his parents, Lloyd Sedwick Bowen, Sr. and Ida Ruth (Funk) Bowen, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Bowen.
