Linda S. Kelly, age 84, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Beura Akers Sparks and the late Hazel Virginia (Waddell) Sparks. A lifelong resident of Harford County, she grew up on her family's dairy farm, where she developed a deep appreciation for family and community.
Known for her warm, outgoing personality, Linda had a special knack for making everyone feel welcome. Fun-loving and full of energy, she was always the life of the party, bringing laughter, kindness, and joy wherever she went. Her positivity was contagious, and she always had a smile, a word of encouragement, a joke to tell, or a piece of thoughtful advice to share.
Linda shared more than 63 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Kenneth David Kelly. They built a lifetime of cherished memories together. Their love of dancing remained a central part of their lives for many years, and they could often be found at various venues around Harford County throughout any given week.
A devoted wife and mother, Linda spent her children’s early years as a stay-at-home Mom before returning to the workforce, initially at The Aegis and later for Harford County Circuit Court as a Court Clerk.
Above all else, Linda treasured her family. She especially loved spending time with her grandsons, who brought her immense pride and happiness. She was their Mema, and naturally became everyone’s Mema who came into contact with her, whether at a school event, or at any one of a number of ball games or sporting events.
Linda will be remembered for her infectious laughter, generous spirit, unwavering kindness, and extraordinary ability to make those around her feel valued and loved. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories, laughter, and love she shared throughout her life.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Claudia Sparks, and her brother, Roger Sparks.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth David Kelly; her daughter, Sandra Wheeler; her son, Ronald (Debra) Kelly; her grandsons, Jacob Wheeler and Sean Kelly; her sisters, Norma Guercio and Mary Morin; and many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (donation form and on-line options available at https://www.stjude.org).
