Linda Lee Jiles, age 84, of Abingdon, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

Born in Franklin, Pennsylvania, Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Walter Herman Manoske and the late Barbara Jane (Miller) Manoske.

Linda proudly served her country, completing WAC training at Fort McClellan, Alabama. While Vernon was serving in the United States Army, Linda met and married him. Together, they raised three children and built a life that took them to various places around the country. In 1976, Linda and Vernon moved their family to Maryland when Vernon was stationed at Aberdeen Proving Ground.

Linda was a hardworking and dedicated woman. She enjoyed driving a school bus for Bearches Bus Company for nearly 10 years. She later began a career at Anderson Hardware in Joppa, where she worked as an Office Manager for more than 20 years before retiring in 2005.

Family was very important to Linda, and she especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a creative and talented woman who was finally able to enjoy her passion for woodworking in her beloved she-shed, where she made many special items for her family. She also enjoyed gardening and took great pride in the things she created with her own hands.

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon Refell Jiles; her daughter, Kimberly Jiles; and her sister, Nancy Finley.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Melinda Jiles and Karen (Dale) Kefauver; her grandchildren, Caprice (Cameron) Kennedy, Ellen (Lewis) Dooley, Dale (Cecilia) Kefauver, Charles (Tara) Delp, Jr., and Jessica Nebus; her great-grandchildren, Carson Kennedy, Cassidy Kennedy, Grayson Delp, Waylon Delp, Audrey Dooley, and Bernadette Dooley; and her sister, Kimberlee Wellman. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
