Lieselotte Noël's Obituary

Lieselotte Maria (Probst) Noël, age 95, of Edgewood, Maryland passed away on March 17th at her home in Edgewood, Maryland

Born in Rotthal Münster, Bavaria, she was the daughter of the late Wilhelm Remm and Elisabeth Probst Remm of Brannenburg Am Inn, Bavaria, and wife of the late SFC Joseph A. Noël, United States Army. She was a member of the VFW Abingdon, Maryland Lady’s Auxiliary and the Edgewood American Legion Post 17 Lady’s Auxiliary. Lieselotte was employed by the Edgewood Arsenal Child Care Center from the 1960’s thru the 1980’s and retired as the director of the center. She was affectionately known throughout Harford County as Miss Lottie. In her younger years growing up in Brannenburg Am Inn, Lieselotte enjoyed cross country skiing, hiking through the Bavarian Alps and was a member of the Brannenburger Trachtverein. Prior to coming to the United States, Lieselotte was a Nurse and Mid Wife in Brannenburg, Bavaria. She was an avid cook and baker and was known for her Apfel strudel and spritz cookies.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—cheering on her beloved Baltimore teams as an enthusiastic armchair quarterback, playing bingo, tending to her garden, and spending time outside watching the neighborhood. She cherished any opportunity to be with family, whether it was shopping trips, lunch out, or proudly attending her grandchildren’s concerts and sporting events as their biggest supporter and cheerleader. She was never afraid to speak her mind, whether she knew you well or not, and she left a lasting impression everywhere she went.

Lieselotte is survived by her sons, Joseph Lorenzo Noël (Mary Etta), Daniel N. Noël (David Tweedie), and Thomas E. Noël (Tam); daughters, Deborah M. Noël, and Peggy E. Noël; grandchildren, Tiffany Noël Wagoner (Eric), and Delani A. Noël; grandsons, Joseph A. Noël, and Nicholas A. Noël (Lauren); and 2 great grandsons, Conner Francis Noël and Thomas Vernon Noël.

She was preceded in death by her husband, SFC Joseph Adrien Noël, her mother Elisabeth Probst Remm and stepfather Wilhelm Remm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Harford County Humane Society, Make a Wish Foundation and the Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC.
