Leon Anderson

Leon Anderson, 79 years old, of Abingdon Maryland, passed away on June 24, 2024, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. Maryland. Born in Sparta, North Carolina. Leon was the son of the late Cam Anderson and Martha Jane (Irwin) Anderson.

Leon is survived by his son Greg Anderson and his wife Bonnie; two daughters, Diane Anderson, and Kym Anders; sister, Lavonne Pape; brother, Frank Anderson, and his wife Connie. Leon is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, Leon was preceded in death by his brothers, Jesse Anderson and Ted Anderson, his son Joe Huskins, grandson Jeffrey Anders, and his life partner. Louise Ferguson.

Leon shared 25 beautiful years with Louise, who preceded him in death in December 2023. Louise's son Douglas Ferguson and wife Jeanne, daughter Jackie Bullock and husband Steve were a significant part of Leon's life, as was her son Steve Ferguson, who also preceded Leon in death.

Leon was a great lover of animals, especially dogs, cats, and birds. He found joy in building things. He was an avid fan of the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles. He was a fun-loving father and grandfather who would give you the shirt off his back. He would put a smile on your face even on what you thought was your worst day.

Leon will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

The family would like to invite all who knew and loved Leon to join us in a celebration of his life. His memorial service will be held July 20, 2024, at Ebenezer Methodist Church, 3345 Charles St, Fallston MD 21047 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society of Harford County.
