Mrs. Lena Eugenia Harris, age 79, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2026.
Born in Grayson County, Virginia, Lena was the daughter of the late Stella Eugenia (Moses) Green. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Calvin Douglas Harris, Sr.; and her sister, Evelyn Moses.
Lena was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose love for family was evident in everything she did. She was a proud former President of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 55 and enjoyed spending time with those she loved most. Lena retired from City of Aberdeen, she was the Deputy Clerk Treasurer.
Lena loved dancing to good music, bargain shopping, and finding a great deal. She found joy in cooking and sharing meals with family and friends and was well known for hosting gatherings, cookouts, and celebrations at her home. She especially enjoyed playing card games and cherished Thanksgiving, her favorite holiday. Every year, she would begin preparations the day before to ensure her family enjoyed a memorable meal together.
She will be remembered for always speaking her mind, her loving nature, her beautiful smile, and the many stories she loved to share. Lena and her late husband, Calvin, generously opened their home to anyone in need, offering comfort, hospitality, and support. Above all else, she adored her grandchildren, who truly held her heart.
Lena is survived by her sister, Geraldine Davis and her husband Edgar Davis, Sr., nephews Chadd Moses, Anthony Davis, Edgar, Jr. and great nephew Elijah Davis, her loving children, Portia Harris, Calvin Harris, Jr., and Candace Harris; her cherished grandchildren, Damion Harris, Jada Harris Helmcamp, Ariana Harris, Alexis Harris, Eamon Reliford, Aiden Harris, and Phaenyx Reliford; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Fisher, Kyden McCrimmon, Haisley Harris, Ruxton Jarvis, Kade Vogt, and Logan Harris, and her mother's brother Frederick Ray Moses, Virginia. She also leaves behind multitude of extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
