Kelly W. Tipton

September 17, 1956 — June 23, 2024

Kelly W. Tipton, age 67, of Joppa, Maryland, passed away on June 23, 2024. Born in Silver Spring, Maryland, he was the beloved son of the late John "Tip" and Ruth (Henry) Tipton. Kelly lived in Harford County for most of his life, dedicating much of his time to the community he cherished.

Kelly spent most of his career in real estate, a profession he enjoyed immensely. He took great pride in helping others find their homes and was known for his kindness and dedication to his clients.

During Kelly’s free time he enjoyed fishing and playing golf, following the Ravens and Orioles, watching all kinds of sports and movies, cheering on his nieces and nephews in their sporting endeavors, and dog sitting. He was also a voracious reader of all genres.

Kelly was a natural born athlete, and his mind was a treasure trove of sports knowledge. He loved to talk strategy and statistics. In his younger days, he enjoyed playing football, baseball, basketball and softball.

Kelly is survived by his sisters, Kris Tipton and Kara (Richard) Chizmar; his brothers, Kasey A. (Michelle) Tipton, and Kyle J. (Mona) Tipton; and his eight nieces and nephews, Kimberly (Kyle) Young, John Tipton, Tiffany (Jay) Koziol, Cody Tipton, Troy Tipton, Chad (Nicoll) Tipton, Billy Chizmar, Noah Chizmar; as well as seven grand-nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Steve Arnold.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Kara and Richard Chizmar on Saturday, July 20th.

He will be deeply missed and remembered fondly by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Kelly would do anything for anyone. Those who desire may contribute to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in honor of Kelly’s memory and commitment to helping others.
