Kathleen E. Wimpling, age 78, of Bel Air, MD passed away on May 28, 2026. Born in Baltimore, MD she was the loving daughter of the late Joseph Paul Clark and Ruth (Cross) Clark and the beloved wife of the late Joseph Lawrence Wimpling.

Kathleen shared a long and loving marriage and built a life centered on family, friendship, and cherished memories. During her years working at UMBC, she formed some of her closest and most enduring friendships and relationships she treasured throughout her life.

She enjoyed traveling with her daughter and family, creating lasting memories through their adventures together. She especially loved gathering with loved ones to enjoy Maryland crabs, one of her favorite traditions.

Her greatest joy was her family. She adored her grandchild and great-grandchildren and took immense pride in their lives and accomplishments. She especially loved attending her great-grandchildren's sporting events, enthusiastically cheering them on from the sidelines.

She will be remembered for her warm, friendly, and outgoing spirit. Her kindness, welcoming nature, and genuine interest in others touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Gina (Timothy) Smith; grandson Steven (Krissi) Smith; great grandchildren Chase Smith and Cole Smith, sister-in-law Kathy Clark, nieces and nephews, Erin Kershner, Kristen (Andy) Finamore, Joseph Clark, and Nicholas Clark; great-nephews and great-nieces, Luke Finamore, RyLynn Kershner, Kiera Clark and Arianna Clark.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, James Clark, JoEllen Williams, and Paul Clark.
