Kathleen S. Smith of Fallston, died on Monday, September 1, 2025, at the age of 95. Overseen by her daughter Jo and caregivers she was able to remain in her home.
Along with her husband the late Elmer V. Smith, Sr., she owned and operated Partner’s Choice Farm since 1958. Born in Delta, PA, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Anna P. (Beason) Sadler. Mrs. Smith was a graduate of Highland High School, an active alumni having served in various offices including president numerous times. She also attended Towson State then Strayer and was a secretary-bookkeeper for Leo J. Umerley Trucking Company for 33 years. Always stocked with farm raised meats and vegetables, her kitchen was full of food and laughter. As a former 4-H member and encouraging all of her children to join, she stayed connected as a judge in the canning division of the Harford County Farm Fair. She grew and sold produce along the Route 152 corridor for many years. She was a member of Emory Methodist Church and always had a song in her heart. She and her husband loved to dance and what a couple they made. She enjoyed pinochle, gardening, homemaking and kept busy in the lives of her children. She drove a 1931 Ford Roadster Deluxe and was secretary of the Harford Region AACA for 14 years.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by brothers, Lloyd, Robert, Leon and Thomas, sister, Shirley and a grandson, Addison.
She is survived by three sons, Mark, Elmer, Jr. and Michael (Mike);two daughters, Jo and Karen; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
