Karen Rae Rapp

Karen Rae Rapp, age 84, of Elkton, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Born in West Virginia, Karen was the beloved daughter of the late Denver McClellan Brannon and the late Eska Murrel (Jarvis) Brannon.

Karen was devoted to her family and was married to her beloved husband, Carlos Rapp, for 63 years. She was a longtime member of Grace Bible Chapel, where she had been a member since 1971 and served as a financial treasury assistant for several years. She especially enjoyed participating in the Women's Wednesday Bible Study Group, where she treasured the fellowship and friendships she shared with others.

Karen enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved gardening, especially tending to her beautiful flower garden, and enjoyed canning vegetables. She was an avid reader and loved working on jigsaw puzzles. A natural peacemaker, Karen had a special gift for bringing people together. She especially enjoyed hosting large family dinners, creating opportunities for the entire family to gather around the table and share time together.

Karen will be remembered for her loving heart, generous spirit, devotion to her family, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Enona Phipps.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Carlos Rapp; her daughters, Lisa (Mark) Wilson and Christie Louthan; her grandchildren, Cayla, Jacob, Aryn, Ian, Mark, and Karee; and her brother, Paul (Jean) Brannon. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
