June S. Barnes

June S. Barnes, age 93, of Fallston, Maryland passed away on November 26, 2023, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Anna (Kulick) Ziegler and wife of the late Albert John Barnes. She was a former member of Zion United Church of Christ (White Marsh). She retired from R.S. Stern Shipping where she worked as an accountant for many years.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family, traveling, being at the pool, and crocheting.  She also enjoyed her five dogs Ricky, Liam, Tyler, Benny and Gigi.  In her younger years, she loved to roller dance.

June is survived by her son, Wayne A. (Michele) Barnes, daughter, Carol A. (Magdy) Attia; and grandchildren, Ty A. Barnes and Leila M. Attia.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty A. Ziegler.

Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.  For the past several years, she has participated in the Atlantic General Penguin Plunge.  She was crowned the “oldest” plunger several years in a row.  Leila Attia and Ty Barnes will plunge again this year in her honor.
