Julia A. Bates

Julia A. Bates, age 66, of Edgewood, MD, passed away on December 6, 2014 at her home. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Bumpus Bates. She worked for Bata Shoe Company for 28 years after which she worked at Sephora in Belcamp until the present. She loved all kinds of music, and her cousin on her mother's side of the family was related to Tina Turner. She loved her 19 year old Conure Parrot, Andre, whom she raised from 3 months of age. Julia was always there for anyone and ready to help.

Ms. Bates is survived by her beloved friend, Ray Smith of Edgewood; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
