Mrs. Joylene Mae England, age 87, of Edgewood, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2026.

Born in Alpena, Michigan, on July 3, 1939, Joylene was the beloved daughter of the late Roy Wellington King and the late Florence Ellen (McMichael) King. She was the youngest of four children and grew up on the family farm.

In 1957, Joylene met the love of her life, Willard Melvin England, of Forest Hill, Maryland. They were married on Christmas Day in 1957, and together they built a loving family. Willard passed away in 2014. They were blessed with seven children: Jeanette (Jacquie), Dixie, Raymond, Roy (Keith), Patricia, Shelly, and Eric England; seven grandchildren, Keith, Zeke, Eli, Ezra, and Jovie England, and Shannon and Samantha Stanley; and one great-grandson, Ayden Taylor.

Joylene and Will opened their hearts and home to many children, serving as foster parents to 82 children. Joylene also babysat many others throughout the years. She was known for her beautiful cakes, which she lovingly made for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and many other happy occasions.

Joylene was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished her family deeply. She will be remembered for the love, care, and devotion she gave so freely to those around her and for the special place her family held in her heart.

A longtime member of Edgewood Baptist Church, Joylene faithfully served both her church and her community for many years. Her faith in Jesus was an important part of her life, and she will be remembered as a woman of faith and service.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Joylene was preceded in death by her son, Raymond England, who died tragically at the age of 17; her siblings and their spouses, Annabelle (Ronald) Wilder of Alpena, Michigan, and Raymond (Mellidean) King of Spring, Texas; her sister, Donna Jean Wilcox of Spring Arbor, Michigan; and her closest friends from Edgewood, Dorothy and Bud Sullivan and Marge Bollman.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.

Joylene leaves behind a legacy of undying devotion and love. She walked in faith with Jesus and spent her life caring for and serving others. Her loving spirit and the countless lives she touched will be remembered always.
