Joyce Wilson, age 73, of Edgewood, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the beloved daughter of the late Margaret Elizabeth (Lowe) McDonald.

Joyce shared more than 50 beautiful years with her devoted partner, Donna MacWha, a lifetime built on love, friendship, and unwavering devotion. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter, care, and family. Their bond was one of true partnership and love, a shining example of what it means to walk through life hand in hand.

Joyce was a loving mother to her daughters, Jamie (Darnell) Alston and Jennifer (Richard) Schneider, and a proud grandmother (Yae) to Trae (Keyaira) Wooten, Randi Alston, Kori Alston, Ari Alston, Aaron (Ruth) Peterson, Elizabeth Peterson, and Erika Peterson. Her heart overflowed with joy for her great-grandchildren, Amirah Wooten, Braylin Wooten, and Chasidy Wooten, who brought endless smiles to her days. She is also survived by her dear sisters, Lynne MacWha and Renea Phelps, who shared countless cherished memories with her through the years.

Throughout her life, Joyce dedicated herself to caring for others as a private duty nurse and caregiver. Her compassion touched the lives of countless families through her many years of service. Caring came naturally to her; it wasn't just a profession, but her calling.

Joyce found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: her coffee, tending to her garden, enjoying a good book, cooking heartfelt meals, and, most of all, spending precious time with her loved ones. Her nurturing spirit, gentle humor, and endless love will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
