Joyce L. Krout

October 14, 1950 — November 13, 2025

Bel Air

It is with a heart full of thankfulness that we celebrate the full life of Joyce Lavenia Krout, whose strong faith in the Lord, brought genuine encouragement and warm heartedness to all who knew her. Joyce who went home to be with Jesus on November 13th, 2025 at the age of 75, will long be remembered for praising the Lord in both the good and the hard times of life and for generously sharing the light and hope of Jesus with others.

Born on October 14th, 1950 in Baltimore, Maryland, the youngest of 7 children, to her loving parents Madeline “Nan” Whiteford and Charles A. Whiteford, Joyce’s memory will be forever held in the hearts of her beloved and only son, Shawn, daughter-in-law, Heather and her three adoring granddaughters, Eve Alexis, Maci Frances and Livvy Grace. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Alvin Legrande Krout in 2007 after his long battle with pancreatic cancer, which he lost at the age of 59. While Joyce spent her last 18 years as a widow, she found great comfort and a refreshed source of joy in spending time with her family and friends and her three granddaughters, whom she loved very much. She joins now in heaven her 2 brothers, James Whiteford and Charles Whiteford and her 3 sisters, Barbara Winterstein, Darlene Butz and Betty Beeman in eternal rest.

As a long time member of Bethel Temple in Baltimore and New Covenant Chuch of God in Bel Air, Maryland, Joyce’s love of church was a large part of her daily life. She took sustenance in God’s love. Her faith was her strength, and when life became difficult, it was her love of Jesus and His strength and grace that saw her through. In the evening of November 13th, 2025, Joyce passed away comfortably and peacefully after a near decade long battle with Parkinson's Disease at Top of The Hill Manor Assisted Living, where she had been lovingly cared for daily, for the last 2 years of her life by the tender nurses and staff.

Joyce’s deep rooted faith, warm smile and light of the Lord from within provided a strong foundation of love and faith for her family. As her loved ones hold tightly to the treasures of memories they shared with Joyce, her legacy of kindness and unconditional love will forever remain.
