Joshua Andrew Chilcoat (Drew) age 38 of Baltimore, MD passed away on February 6, 2024. We lost this awesome soul who left behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. Born to Gary Chilcoat and Lynne Leard Moore, he was adored and loved by his family and friends. Joshua was a beloved son, father, brother and friend.
Joshua served his country with honor and distinction as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marines (going by the name “Chilly”) for nearly a decade, completing four tours of duty, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. During his service, he not only demonstrated bravery on the battlefield but also served as a martial arts instructor, sharing his skills and knowledge with fellow Marines. Additionally, he was a skilled automotive technician, showing his dedication and versatility at various endeavors.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Joshua was known for his passion for collecting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles memorabilia and his fondness of the TV show Golden Girls. His heart was also big enough to encompass the love he had for his loyal companion, Pablo, a rescued Pitbull mix.
One of Joshua’s most endearing qualities was his sense of humor, always ready with a joke or a witty remark to bring smiles to those around him. He had a special knack for giving the best hugs, a gesture that will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of receiving one. He loved telling his dad to “give him a squeeze”. His adoration for his son, Brody, knew no bounds, and he embraced fatherhood with warmth, dedication, and unwavering love.
Joshua is survived by his beloved son, Brody Chilcoat, devoted parents Gary and Darlene Chilcoat and Lynne Moore; his cherished grandmother Jean Chilcoat, his brother and sister-in-law Jacob and Soni Chilcoat, his brother and sister-in-law Neal and Rachel Ortt, his sister and brother-in-law Rachel and Kevin Zaegel, his sister Jessica Chilcoat, and his faithful companion Pablo. He leaves behind 7 nieces and nephews and many other loving family members too numerous to count.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bello Machre in care of the Viriginia House 7765 Freetown Rd, Glen Burnie, MD 21060 https://bellomachre.org in honor of Joshua’s compassionate spirit and commitment to helping others.
Joshua's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace, his legacy of kindness and generosity serving as a guiding light for all who follow in his footsteps.
