Joseph S. Narutowicz

Joseph S. Narutowicz, age 68, of Bel Air, MD died on September 6, 2014 at Autumn Assisted Living in Bel Air, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD he is the son of the late Michael Joseph and Frances Eleanora Wesolowski Narutowicz.

Joseph had limits because of his Downs Syndrome but he did not limit himself. He attended St. Francis and St. Elizabeth's school for special Education where he learned many skills and made fast friends.
Joseph traveled extensively with his parents. They went to Spain, Mexico, Hawaii, Disney World, Florida and on many cruises. When his parents retired in 1971 they settled in Punta Gorda, Florida.

Joseph was a long time member of the Bel Air Athletic Club and worked out three days a week. His present trainer, Skeet Grimes, took over when Cory Smith and Sue Letchin moved away. Joseph took his athletics and exercise seriously. He was a Special Olympian and won gold in swimming and running while living in Florida.
Joseph considered everyone he met his friend. He had friends at Autumn Living, Children and Family Services day care, the Athletic Club, the library, the barber shop, Klein's, where he always got his Milky Way, his dentist and doctor's offices. Joseph loved a good party with lots of music and dancing. He was a joyful person and an inspiration to so many.

Mr. Narutowicz is survived by his siblings, Veronica Brooks, Germaine M. Vadas, James A., Anthony J. and Xavier F. Narutowicz; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Maria N. Garst and brother, Edwin S. Narutowicz.
