Joseph "Dale" Quillen

Joseph "Dale" Quillen, 71, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 16, 2025.

Born in Havre de Grace, Dale was the beloved son of the late Luther Estil Quillen and the late Myrtle Jean (Quillen) Ruff. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Patricia Quillen, as well as his brother William Quillen.

Dale is survived by his loving sister Donna Stein and her husband Ed Stein, and his brother Randall Ruff and his wife Melissa Ruff. He is also survived by his dear niece and nephews.

Dale had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and lived a life surrounded by nature. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, he was passionate about trapping in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and out West. He loved fishing in the Susquehanna River and around various other places in Maryland and the Eastern Shore, and he enjoyed gardening throughout his life.

He was a proud member of the Izaak Walton League of America, Wildlife Achievement Chapter and an active participant in the Maryland Fur Trappers association, where he shared his knowledge and love for conservation and wildlife.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the Boys and Girls Club, causes close to Dale’s heart.
