Joseph John Dragunas, Sr., age 83, of White Hall, Maryland, passed away on January 25, 2024, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late John and Albina (Praleika) Dragunas. Joseph was the beloved husband of Diane (Hipsley) Dragunas.
A devoted member of the Church of Reconciliation for 25 years, Joseph was actively involved as an Elder of the church. His dedication extended beyond the sanctuary as he enjoyed attending Bible studies and actively participated in church functions, particularly the Crab feasts.
Joseph found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending quality time with his family, fishing with his son, and nurturing his passion for gardening. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith made him a cherished member of both his church and community.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Diane Dragunas, and leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He is remembered fondly by his daughters, Shelly (Dennis) Nevin and Tammy (Rick) M. Schenning; son, Joseph (Anna) J. Dragunas, Jr.; brother, Anthony (Theresa) Dragunas; sisters, Marie (Leonard) Hess, Bernadette Ward, and Dolores Maddox.
His memory lives on through his grandchildren: Beth (Jimmy) Hunter, Julie Schenning, Michael Schenning, Kara Dragunas, Ryan Dragunas, Grace Dragunas, Josie Dragunas, Maddie Dragunas, Ellie Dragunas, Danielle Nevin, and Olivia Nevin. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Trey Schenning, Amaya Schenning, JD Hunter, and Jude Hunter.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his brother, Jonas Praleika.
