John Leonard Sobczak, Sr., age 85, of Fallston, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, John was the beloved son of the late Frank Sobczak and Helen Ruth (Holden) Chrusniak. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Francis Sobczak, and his sister, Eleanor “Mary Frances” Sobczak.

John is survived by his devoted wife, Margaret Martha (Ratajczak) Sobczak; his loving children, David Sobczak and his wife Cynthia, John Sobczak, Jr., and Victoria Baublitz and her husband Norman. He was the cherished grandfather of eight grandchildren and proud great-grandfather of seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Martin Sobczak and his wife Victoria, and Richard Sobczak.

John enjoyed spending time camping, fishing, crabbing, and bowling. He especially loved playing cards and treasured the time spent with family and friends.
