John Leroy Leiss

John Leroy Leiss, age 89, of Forest Hill, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Frederick Leiss and Mertha (Hall) Leiss.

He was the beloved husband of Linda Mae (Thomas) Leiss, for 65 years. John was a devoted family man who took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; two sons, Jeffrey (Dayna) Leiss and Kerby (Maureen) Leiss; six grandchildren, Jory (Cristen) Leiss, Cree Thompson (Oliver), Jamison (Brianna) Leiss, Jefferson (Sabrina) Leiss, Benjamin (Erin) Leiss, and Parker (Gabi) Leiss; and seven great-grandchildren, Lennon, Maren, Rory, Hudson, Jackson, Olivia, and Noah.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Leiss.

John loved spending time outdoors and especially enjoyed camping and boating. Above all, his family meant the world to him, and his legacy of love and togetherness will continue through them.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a local cancer organization in honor of his late son, Timothy.
