John Anthony Kurek, age 74, of Maryland, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in Annapolis, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, John was the beloved son of the late Joseph Francis Kurek and the late Erma Rose (Harbough) Kurek.

John was the devoted husband of the late Dianne Lynn (Workman) Kurek. He was a loving, caring, and giving man, and a deeply devoted family man whose life centered around those he loved most.

He is survived by his children: Brian Kurek and his wife Darlene, Kevin Kurek and his wife Christa, and Michelle Kurek. He was a cherished grandfather to Chelsea Kurek, Sydnie Kurek, Corbin Connor, Carley Kurek, Cody Kurek, Samantha Kurek, and Megan Manzari, and a proud great-grandfather to Ayden Kurek, Parklynn Kurek, Ka'layah Walls, and Arianna Walls. He is also survived by his siblings: Mary Moor, Stephen Kurek, and Peter Kurek.

In addition to his wife and parents, John was preceded in death by his siblings William “Bill” Kurek, Thomas Kurek, Julia Mullins, Joseph Kurek, and Phillip Kurek.

John dedicated 49 years of his career to Alban Tractor, beginning in 1971. He especially cherished the years he worked alongside his son, Kevin. A farmer at heart, John found great joy in working the land, caring for his horses, and spending time with his tractors—passions that brought him immense fulfillment throughout his life.
