John "Jack" Lane Jr., age 81, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away peacefully on August 8, 2022, surrounded by his family at Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, Maryland. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the son of John J Lane Sr. and Catherine (Kelleher) Lane. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in Southeast Asia as a Captain during the Vietnam War. He graduated from St. Peters College and earned an MBA from Fordham University. He started his career as a firefighter for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad alongside his brother and father. He went on to build a career in New York City as a Sales Executive in the technology sector serving the top investment banks in the world. Jack was an avid Yankees, Giants and Villanova Basketball fan and an avid reader of Military History.
Jack is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary (Doyle) Lane; son, John J. Lane III (Amy); daughter, Mary Margaret Ruff (Brian); granddaughters, Katherine Ruff, Summer Lane, and Holly Lane; grandson, William Ruff; sister, Mary M. Lane; brother, Thomas Lane; and sister-in-law, Sheila Lane.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Aiden Brian Ruff and brother, Edward Lane.
