It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Albert Heil, a beloved father, grandfather, and brother, who left us on May 6, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on December 18, 1940, in Baltimore, Maryland, John lived a life filled with love, family, and dedication. He resided in Bel Air, Maryland, where he cherished meaningful moments with his loved ones.
John was a proud veteran of the United States Army, embodying the values of service and commitment throughout his life. After his military career, he became a seasoned premium auditor in the insurance industry, where he respected and supported his community with his expertise and integrity. John was a lifelong fan of the Baltimore Orioles and fantasy leagues. He baked a vanilla cake with chocolate icing for every occasion. His happy place was in Ocean City with his wife every year, doing crossword puzzles and sudoku together.
John is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Heil, and Mark Heil, who will forever hold dear the lessons he imparted and the example he set. His grandchildren, Simon, Tyler, Shetira, Kyra, and Kayla as well as his two great-grandchildren, will always remember their grandfather as a source of wisdom and joy. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Mildred Espina, who shared countless memories with him throughout their lives.
In this time of sorrow, we invite all who knew John to come together to honor a life well-lived, filled with compassion, kindness, and love. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
John was preceded in death by his wife Carole Heil, and parents John and Mildred Heil.
