Obituary

In Loving Memory of John Michael Gallina

John Michael Gallina, formerly of Middletown, New Jersey, and more recently of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, October 2.

John was the beloved son of the late John Michael Gallina and Gioconda (Consort) Gallina. He was a devoted husband, father, Grampy, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Above all, John’s greatest passion was his family. He would drop anything to be there for his wife and children and was always someone they could count on.

Known affectionately as “Mr. Fix-It,” John had a gift for building, repairing, and figuring things out. He could find an answer to almost any question and always brought a calm presence when helping others.

John loved sports, especially NASCAR, football, and the Baltimore Orioles. He, Marianne and Bridget traveled throughout the country to watch John play football and created countless memories and adventures along the way. A lifelong bowler, John was captain of his work bowling team and continued bowling throughout his adult life. He loved family vacations to the Jersey Shore, cooking, trying new recipes, and especially grilling for his family. John also treasured trips to the country with his family, where he enjoyed spending time with his sister, Brenda, and making memories together. He had a special love for dogs, and they seemed to love him just as much.

A graduate of Stockton University with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, John was also dedicated to his community, volunteering at Fourth of July celebrations in New Jersey and later with Bel Air football.

John is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Marianne Gallina; son, John (Megan) Gallina; daughter, Bridget Gallina; beloved granddaughter, Juliette Gallina; sister, Brenda (Craig) Klafter; his dear dog Maggie and many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

John will be remembered most for his unwavering devotion to his family, his willingness to help anyone in need, and the love and laughter he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation in support of the Monmouth University Football Program (https://fly.monmouth.edu).
