John Thomas Freeland

John Thomas Freeland, Jr., age 88, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2025. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late John Freeland, Sr. and Doris (Hogan) Freeland. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sally Ann Freeland, with whom he shared many cherished years of marriage.

John proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 17 years. Following his military service, he continued his commitment to public service as a member of the Baltimore County Police Department for 12 years. After retiring from law enforcement, he pursued his passion for craftsmanship by founding his own home remodeling business.

In addition to his wife and parents, John was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Freeland.

He is survived by his loving children: Jeffrey Freeland, Richard Freeland, Steven Freeland, Sherry Argentino, and John "Jack" Freeland. Also, his three granddaughters he raised as his own, Christina Freeland, Stephalyn Freeland, and Layla Freeland, he had 20 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. He was a devoted father and grandfather, and his memory will live on through the family he deeply loved.
