John “Jack” Paul Choynowski, aged 70, a resident of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on December 12, 2023. Born in Queens, New York, he was the son of the late Theodore and Julia (Denega) Choynowski and the beloved husband of Eileen (Wahl) Choynowski. Jack's vibrant and passionate life touched many, leaving behind cherished memories for those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Jack was a talented musician with a love for all types of guitars and all types of music. Alongside his children, he formed the band "Johnnie Faucet & the Drips," enchanting audiences over the years with their music at various venues around Baltimore. Beyond his musical pursuits, Jack had a profound interest in Astronomy and was an active member of AAVSO (American Association of Variable Star Observers).
Sports held a special place in Jack's heart, and he was an avid follower of ice hockey and baseball, with a particular allegiance to the NY Rangers, Yankees, and the Baltimore Orioles. In his most recent days, he demonstrated his athleticism as the Team Captain of the Rising Sun Buttercups Frisbee team.
Jack was not only a dedicated family man but also a committed learner, as evidenced by his impressive thousand-plus streak on Duolingo.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Eileen Choynowski, and their children: Megan (Brad) Yount, Rebecca (Jesse Buonanno) Choynowski, Jake (Bridget) J Choynowski, and Daniel (Deb Gerlach) Choynowski. He leaves behind a cherished grandson, Nolan John Yount. Jack is also survived by his sisters, Kathryn (Tom) Forster and Mary (Michael) Connolly, and his brother, Thomas (Susie) Choynowski..
Contributions may be made to the ALS Association, a cause that held significance for Jack throughout his life.
John “Jack” Paul Choynowski will be remembered as a loving family man, a talented musician, and a passionate individual whose zest for life left an indelible mark on those around him. May he rest in peace.
