Joan C. Wilhelm

Joan C. Wilhelm, age 91, of Abingdon, Maryland, passed away on April 26, 2024, at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Bandy and Dorothy (Guest) Sampson and wife of the late Leonard Bernard Wilhelm Sr.

Joan was a devoted member of St. Francis de Sales and found solace in attending mass every day. She contributed her talents to Wilhelm Automotive in Havre de Grace, assisting her son with billing at his business. Joan had a green thumb and found joy in gardening and planting flowers, creating beauty wherever she went.

Joan is survived by her loving daughters, Barbara (Rudy) Olsen and Carolyn (Glenn) Chavers; sons, Leonard B. Wilhelm, Jr., and David K. Wilhelm; grandchildren, Michael Wilhelm, Marissa Wilhelm, Anthony Wilhelm, and Danielle Popp; great-granddaughter, Lily Watkins; and sisters, Theresa Dorothy Coleman, and Leona Eng.

In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her sisters, Claudia Doris Carr and Frances Smith.
