Joan Mae Schmidt

Joan Mae Schmidt , age 91, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away peacefully at home on November 03, 2025. Wife of 70 years to the late William (Bill) Schmidt.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Frederick and the late Augusta (Naylor) Frederick. She was a consummate homemake.. Joan was an avid walker, loved bowling, tending to her plants and flower beds and enjoyed traveling. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and lived a rich and full life, blessed with a loving family and many friends.

Joan is survived by her daughters, Deborah Carfine, Denise Martin, and Susan Klaschus and devoted son -in- law Allen Klaschus; grandchildren, Kenneth Jr. (Rachel) & Gregory (Jeanne) Carfine, Jonathan (Amanda) Martin, Matthew (Lindsay) & Shawn (Diane) Klaschus;

great-grandchildren, Marley, Kendall & Kennedy Carfine, Caleb, Brinlee, Liam, Cameron & Kylie Klaschus.

Joan was preceded in death by her Parents Elmer John Frederick and Augusta Caroline (Naylor) Frederick; sisters, Dorothy Snyder, Lavern Snapp, brother, Elwood Frederick and her cherished son-in-law, Kenneth Carfine Sr.
