Joan Anne Marchsteiner, 76, of Aberdeen, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Joan was the daughter of the late John Ferdinand Ross and Elizabeth Marie (Brockmeyer) Ross.

Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James John Marchsteiner Jr.; her brothers, John Ross, James Ross, and William Ross; and her sister, Nancy Hamlett.

She is survived by her loving children, Deborah Leonard, Karen (Chris) Simmonds, and James Marchsteiner III. She was the cherished grandmother of Frederick Seling, Zachary (Celina) Fitch, Brian Seling, James Hord, and Haley Hord, and the proud great-grandmother of Ava Fitch and Charlotte Fitch, and many nieces and nephews.

Joan is also survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Sloan, Kathleen Ross, Lisa Horst, Donna King, and Dorothy Cadden.

Celebration of Life service will be held July 8, 2026 7:00-8:30 P.M. Mountain Christian Church 21 Aberdeen Shopping Plaza Aberdeen Maryland 21001

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the organization where Joan proudly served: Epicenter Center, 1918 Pulaski Highway, Edgewood, MD 21040
