Joan Eleanora Kahl

Joan Eleanora Kahl, age 88, of Abingdon, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in Abingdon. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late George Delaney Schofield and Bernice Catherine (Schofield) Cullum and the beloved wife of the late Herman John Kahl.

Joan was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished spending time with her family. She especially loved family vacations with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Joan enjoyed going out to eat, shopping, and visiting the casino — simple joys that brought her great happiness and many fond memories shared with her loved ones.

Joan is survived by her loving daughters, Vicky Poole (widow of Frank Poole)  and Michele (Brian) Flowers; grandchildren Nicki (Rich) Wiseman, Derek (Charity) Strickland, and Tiffany (Brian) Phillips; and great-grandchildren Cierra Richardson, Will Strickland, Jr., McKenzie Richardson, Aiden Phillips and McKylee Strickland; and great great-grandchild Jaymin Davis. Also, her beloved pups Della and Rosco Kahl.
