Jesus Babauta Rosario

Jesus Babauta Rosario, age 69, died on February 3, 2015, at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Jesus, or "Uncle Chu" as he was affectionately known, was born on December 15, 1945 in Dededo, Guam, to parents Antonio Rosario and Ana Cruz Babauta. He attended Tumon High School in Tumon, Guam. After high school he was drafted into the United States Army in 1965 for which he served a 20 year career before entering the civil service. While serving our country as a Field Artillery Systems Repairman & Track Vehicle Mechanic; he received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Air Medal as a soldier in the Vietnam War. He retired after 22 years of civil service as a Wheel & Track Vehicle Maintenance Automotive Instructor.

Jesus was a great family man and a loving father. He married Annie Leon Guerrero Nauta in Barrigada, Guam on May 6, 1967 and the couple had six children together, including Katrina, who died in infancy.
Jesus was a social & active man who was deeply involved in the Knights of Columbus, the Hafai Adai Club in Hawaii & the Guam Society of America for the majority of his life. He enjoyed bowling, fishing & golfing. His family and friends will always remember him for his laughter, his suspenders, and his inappropriate T-shirts. You could always find him at Chamorro fiestas roasting the pig or jitterbugging with his wife.

Jesus is survived by his wife, Annie Nauta Rosario, of Edgewood, MD; his daughter, Charlotte A.R. Harris (Melvin), of Edgewood, MD; and his sons Jesse (Denise), of Middle River, MD, and Keone (Dawn), of Edgewood, MD, his sister Elaine Uglow (Mike); and his brothers Fred (Esther), William, John & Anthony. He also leaves to cherish his memory 23 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughters, Elizabeth Williams and Katrina Rosario; his son Edward Rosario & his granddaughter Angelina Rosario.
